On October 19, agricultural products including rice, rapeseed oil and potatoes purchased by our county for the consumption-oriented poverty alleviation program between eastern and western regions were transported thousands of miles from Liangshan and Guangyuan in Sichuan to Qingyuan. The county deployed 9 freight tricycles and over 20 staff divided into 9 delivery teams each day, delivering goods door-to-door to all work units by district according to delivery addresses. By October 27, the delivery task of 8,036 sets of poverty-alleviation agricultural products (253 tons in total) for 180 work units across the county was fully completed. Our county purchased poverty-alleviation agricultural products worth more than 2.12 million yuan in this campaign, fulfilling the 2020 eastern-western consumption poverty alleviation target ahead of schedule and exceeding the quota.

At the centralized warehouse for agricultural products of Zhejiang Honglian Stationery Co., Ltd., 9 freight tricycles loaded designated quantities of agricultural products in accordance with order lists every day before heading to respective work units. At the goods receiving station of the Federation of Trade Unions of Township Health Center, the person in charge signed for confirmation after checking 210 sets of agricultural products. He expressed full satisfaction with the delivery work and commended trade union members for purchasing poverty-alleviation agricultural products. Such purchases gather public compassion and provide strong support for paired assistance. Everyone is willing to join hands with residents in paired poor areas of Sichuan to strive for a moderately prosperous society.

Compassion unites strength! The whole process including order registration of agricultural products, loading, storage, delivery, receiving and payment of goods received robust support from government departments, townships, sub-districts, enterprises and public institutions across the county. All cadres in Qingyuan demonstrated high ideological standards and political awareness. Zhejiang Honglian Stationery Co., Ltd. and Qingyuan Grain Purchase & Storage Co., Ltd. also provided free warehouses for centralized storage of poverty-alleviation agricultural products, offering tremendous support for the smooth completion of delivery work.

This year marked the final and decisive year for winning the battle against poverty. Taking poverty alleviation as a paramount political task, Qingyuan has pushed forward related work in a pragmatic manner, successfully fulfilled the paired assistance task between eastern and western regions, and contributed Qingyuan’s efforts to the nationwide poverty alleviation campaign. Next, our county will send another delegation to Sichuan to inspect the progress of eastern-western poverty alleviation cooperation, launching further support for poverty elimination in Butuo County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture. Meanwhile, special counters for poverty-alleviation products will be set up in the county seat to further expand sales channels and inject fresh momentum into consumption-based poverty alleviation for Sichuan Province.
