Colored pencils with off-center leads or cracked, incomplete leads tend to snap easily during sharpening and are unsuitable for detailed drawing.


Judgment of Wood Quality:
The wooden barrel shall feature uniform and fine texture, fully wrapping the pencil lead. Basswood logs are the optimal choice, such as the primary school Elephant log colored pencils, which are easy to sharpen and free of knots.
Wooden barrels with uneven texture make sharpening difficult and tend to produce wood burrs.

Judgment of Coloring Performance of Pencil Leads:
High-quality colored pencils can easily draw color blocks with even gradient changes.
Inferior colored pencils often produce uneven lines with alternating dark and light strokes, making them hard to control.
