1. Raw Materials:
Nano Lead Refills (Mainstream Nano-Diamond Composite Type, e.g. uni Nano Dia)
Basic raw materials: high-purity graphite + resin binder + nano-scale diamond micro-particles (around 400 million nano-diamonds per single lead refill). Nano-diamonds fill the gaps between graphite particles to form a mesh supporting structure; they are integrally fired at high temperature with highly uniform and dense molecular arrangement. Affordable "nano lead refills" on the market also add nano-carbon / nano-silica powder to boost toughness, following the same principle.
Two Categories of Ordinary Lead Refills
Low-cost basic type: fired from graphite and clay without reinforcing fillers, featuring loose structure, abundant internal gaps and high brittleness.
Mid-grade ordinary resin type: graphite mixed with resin. Only resin improves toughness without nano reinforcing particles, leading to a low upper limit of strength.
2. Performance: Nano lead refills deliver superior writing experience with high break resistance, producing clearer and smoother writing marks. Ordinary lead refills tend to break more easily and cannot match the writing quality of nano lead refills.
Graphite particles in nano lead refills bond tightly, generating minimal graphite dust. Marks will not smudge or leave black streaks when wiped by hands or arms after writing, delivering cleaner scanning and copying results. Ordinary lead refills shed heavy powder; left-handed writers are highly likely to smudge paper surfaces, and gray residues remain after erasing with rubber erasers.
Nano lead refills wear evenly and consume slowly. They last around 30% longer than ordinary lead refills under the same writing workload, without frequent lead extension or large-scale flaking loss. Users need to extend new lead refills frequently with ordinary leads after writing a short section.
Nano lead refills feature dense graphite arrangement. With the same hardness grade, they produce darker handwriting with uniform line thickness and stable shade, free from uneven light and dark streaks. Ordinary lead refills contain loose graphite that sheds powder easily and creates pale marks. Users have to press hard to get dark lines, which often appear patchy and broken.
3. Price: Nano lead refills adopt special manufacturing processes and technologies, so they are generally priced higher than ordinary lead refills.
